Wills Eye Hospital is pleased to announce the opening of its new Pediatric Ophthalmology office at Abington Hospital. Our exciting new location provides complete Pediatric Ophthalmology and Adult Strabismus care. Our clinical staff, pediatric ophthalmologists and pediatric optometrist specializing in pediatric contact lenses, are all here to serve all of our Jefferson pediatrician colleagues throughout the Jefferson-Abington community.

Appointments may be scheduled with the following physicians:
Jade M. Minor, MD is on the Wills Eye pediatric service, the academic faculty of Sidney Kimmel Medical College and medical staff of Thomas Jefferson University Hospital. Dr. Minor provides specialty focused care in pediatric ophthalmology and strabismus along with adult strabismus. Her fellowship experience and concentrated exposure to intraocular surgery allowed her to develop a special interest in and be uniquely equipped to perform pediatric cataract and glaucoma surgery as well. Dr. Minor attended Grove City College. She graduated from Pennsylvania State University College of Medicine in Hershey, Pennsylvania where she was elected to The National Gold Humanism Honor Society and was recognized with the Department of Ophthalmology Achievement Award for outstanding aptitude and excellence in ophthalmology. Dr. Minor completed both her internship and ophthalmology residency at Beaumont Health System in Royal Oak, Michigan. Dr. Minor has also demonstrated her commitment to international medicine having participated in surgical missions to Ecuador and Migori, Kenya. Dr. Minor completed her Pediatric Ophthalmology and Strabismus Fellowship at Wills Eye Hospital. She has performed complex pediatric and adult strabismus surgeries, pediatric cataract extraction and pediatric glaucoma procedures.
Tara Franz, OD – Dr. Franz received her Bachelor of Science degree from Bucknell University in Lewisburg, PA. She then received her Doctor of Optometry degree from the Pennsylvania College of Optometry where she graduated with honors.
Dr. Franz went on to complete an additional year of training in pediatrics, vision therapy, and traumatic brain injuries at the school in Philadelphia. She is an associate member of the College of Optometrists in Vision Development.
