Wills Eye Hospital offers a two-year ASOPRS Oculoplastics fellowship and a two-year fellowship in Neuro-Ophthalmology & Oculoplastic/Orbital Surgery.
This 2-year fellowship offers intensive clinical and surgical training in a high-volume academic setting.
Each fellow rotates between Neuro-Ophthalmology and Oculoplastic Surgery every three months, spending a total of one year in each subspecialty.
In Neuro-Ophthalmology clinic, fellows are exposed to a tremendous variety of pathology, as many complicated neuro-ophthalmology patients are referred through our 24/7 Wills Eye Emergency Room and referral network.
On the Oculoplastics and Orbital Surgery rotation, fellows primarily work with Dr. Jurij R. Bilyk in both the clinic and the operating room. The fellows spend an average of two days per week in the operating room and three days in the clinic (at Wills Eye and satellite offices), gaining experience in various eyelid, nasolacrimal, and orbital cases
The Oculoplastic Surgeons of Philadelphia sponsors a two-year oculoplastic fellowship approved by the American Society of Ophthalmic Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery (ASOPRS).
The goal of the fellowship is to provide the fellow with exposure and training in all aspects of oculoplastic and facial surgery, including eyelid, lacrimal, orbital, reconstructive surgery as well as surgical and nonsurgical cosmetics procedures. The fellowship provides opportunities in both academic medicine and private practice, training our fellow to pursue either academic or private practice careers. Clinical sites include Wills Eye Hospital, Thomas Jefferson University Hospitals, and Lankenau Hospital of Mainline Health.
