Optic Nerve Photographs

In glaucoma, diagnosis and management are directed toward preventing future damage from glaucoma. We are currently unable to repair optic nerve damage from glaucoma. Therefore, it is critical to identify progressive changes in the optic nerve that may indicate damage from glaucoma. Photographs allow comparison of the optic nerve appearance over the course of time. Photographic techniques allow us to capture stereoscopic, or three-dimensional, images to better highlight glaucoma damage.
