Protect Your Child's Vision: Limit Screen Time

In today's age, marked by ubiquitous video screens on smartphones, computers, and more, children are estimated to spend an average of seven hours daily on entertainment and media according to the American Academy of Pediatrics. In addition, children are exposed at a younger age.

A recent study reported that over 90% of 1-year olds had already used a digital device.* Adding to the problem, the COVID-19 pandemic has now made online learning mainstream. The impact of increased digital exposure on health is mixed. Although benefits can include early learning and opportunities for social contact and support, concerns about negative effects on obesity, sleep, mental health, and eye strain are valid.
