Vision Loss and GLP-1
Wills Eye Retina Chief Sunir J. Garg, MD weighs in on the risk of vision loss from the use of GLP-1 drugs. “What we don’t want is for patients to be so fearful of these medicines that they say, ‘Well, I’d rather live with my poorly controlled diabetes out of fear of visual loss.' The substantial majority of patients who take these drugs won’t ever have vision problems." He and other doctors addressed these concerns as patients sue drug companies.
