Research Interests: Dr. Kammi Gunton is a pediatric ophthalmology and adult strabismus specialist who manages both common and rare conditions that can affect children’s eyes as well as caring for adults with eye misalignments. Dr. Gunton has been in practice for 25 years and is currently the Chief of the Pediatric Ophthalmology and Adult Strabismus Service at Wills Eye Hospital. Dr. Gunton has worked on numerous research projects focusing on amblyopia and strabismus in children and adults. She has investigated the role of strabismus correction in adolescents, perceptions of pediatric ophthalmologist as well as the public of adult strabismus, the impact of amblyopia on physical activity levels in adolescents, the use of digital reminders to boost compliance in amblyopia treatment, the surgical success rates in exotropia correction, the impact of different tools in resident surgical education, and the use of novel treatments for amblyopia through Pediatric Eye Investigator Group sponsored research.
