Nina S. Boal, MD is a board-certified, oculofacial plastic surgeon and ophthalmologist. She specializes in plastic surgery of the face, with special attention to functional and cosmetic surgeries of the upper and lower eyelids (blepharoplasty and ptosis repair), forehead and brow lifts (direct and endoscopic) midface lifts and reconstruction of facial skin cancers. She also performs surgeries of the tear drainage system, surgeries in the eye socket (orbit) and minimally-invasive facial rejuvenation procedures such as Botox, dermal fillers, and chemical peels. Dr. Boal has experience treating patients of all ages, ranging from children to adult patients having both functional and cosmetic oculoplastic surgery.
Dr. Boal is a graduate of Dartmouth College where she majored in Geography with a focus in International Development. She received her medical degree from Sidney Kimmel Medical College at Thomas Jefferson University. She spent her medicine intern year at Lankenau Medical Center and Mainline Health. Dr. Boal then completed ophthalmology residency training through Boston University at Boston Medical Center. Following residency, she subsequently underwent a 2-year fellowship in oculofacial plastic surgery through the American Society of Ophthalmic Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery (ASOPRS) at the Medical College of Wisconsin. During her fellowship she trained at the Froedtert Eye Institute, Children’s Hospital of Wisconsin, Clement J Zablocki Veterans Affairs Medical Center and Illume Cosmetic Surgery Center in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. She is a member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology and the American Society of Ophthalmic Plastic and Reconstructive Surgeons.
