Amy E. Weber, MD is a diplomate of the American Board of Ophthalmology and is an active medical staff member of the Cataract and Primary Eye Care Service at Wills Eye Hospital. Her practice includes the diagnosis and treatment of a variety of medical conditions of the eyes, including cataracts, glaucoma, diabetes, eyelid and ocular surface diseases, neuro-ophthalmic conditions, and macular degeneration. She sees patients of all ages, both with and without ocular diseases and is active in teaching medical students and residents at Wills Eye.
Dr. Weber received her Bachelor of Science Degree from Allegheny College in Meadville, PA. She performed Neuroscience research for several years and completed a Master of Science Degree at the University of Pittsburgh. She then attended the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine, and graduated with a doctor of medicine degree and the distinction of being first in the medical school class. She was also inducted into Alpha Omega Alpha, the national medical school honor society. Internship was completed at the Fairfax Hospital Transitional Medicine Program of Georgetown University. Ophthalmology residency was performed at Wills Eye Hospital.
Her philosophy of practice emphasizes compassionate and thorough examinations and treatment to ensure optimization and preservation of vision.
