Coronavirus-Covid-19

Wills Eye Hospital and Jefferson Health's team of physicians and healthcare professionals include national experts who have decades of experience in caring for patients with infectious diseases and in activating comprehensive, response management plans when public health threats develop. Our team is well prepared for 2019 novel coronavirus (COVID-19) diagnoses in our region and is focused on the health and well-being of our patients and employees. We are actively monitoring the COVID-19 outbreak through the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) and World Health Organization (WHO) as well as the state and city departments of health in our region.

Please note: If you or someone you know is experiencing symptoms of COVID-19, you can use JeffConnect® for a telehealth consult with a Jefferson doctor anytime, anywhere through your cell phone, tablet, or computer with a webcam. Plan ahead and be ready – read the CDC’s resource list for your household.

COVID-19: HOSPITAL VISITOR AND PATIENT POLICIES

As Wills Eye and Jefferson continue to closely monitor all developments related to COVID-19, we are taking additional steps to protect our patients and visitors from potential exposure. Your health and safety is of the utmost importance to us.

Please keep in mind, we understand the desire of patients, as well as their families and loved ones to be together during illness or hospitalization, but it is our responsibility to keep everyone safe.

Effective immediately and until further notice, Wills Eye has implemented social distancing measures to help slow the spread of coronavirus.

  • Non-urgent appointments are being canceled until further notice.  Email healthy@willseye.org for questions.
  • Patients and visitors will be screened at entrances.
  • A limit of one person accompanying a patient will be enforced.

Thank you for doing your part to protect our patients, visitors, and staff!

* Visiting guidelines have been adjusted until further notice. Guidelines are subject to change.

Wills Eye Hospital COVID-19 Emergency Fund

Friends have asked if there is something they can do to help Wills Eye Hospital staff and patients with the unusual expenses because of the COVID-19 pandemic. In response to those questions, we have created a designation for donors that will be used immediately to support our staff and patients during this crisis. If you would like to make a gift, donate here. Stay safe, stay well!
