Wills Eye's community-based programs are designed to improve the eye health of
children and adults living in the Philadelphia metropolitan region.
To help eliminate diabetic blindness in the Greater Philadelphia region, Wills Eye provides a professional retina screening, help with coordination of follow-up care, diabetic health information, and more. Appointments required.
Wills Eye offers complimentary eye exams, diabetic eye disease screenings, cataract evaluations, and glaucoma checks at the Hansjorg-Wyss Wellness Center in South Philadelphia for uninsured and underinsured community members. Translator services available.
During this annual event, Wills Eye provides free eye screenings for children ages 6–17 in the Philadelphia metropolitan area who have not had, or who have not passed, an eye screening. No insurance is required. Since 2009, more than 9,000 children have received these free eye care services.
A fee-free clinic, the Access Clinic provides basic ophthalmic screening services and free eyeglasses at Wills Eye. Complimentary ophthalmic medications and scheduling patients for cataract surgery also available.
