Julia A. Haller, MD, Chief Executive Officer, Ophthalmologist-in-Chief, and William Tasman, MD Endowed Chair at Wills Eye Hospital, is a trailblazing retina surgeon-scientist who has innovated translational advances against blindness on many fronts. An influential leader in ophthalmology, Dr. Haller serves on multiple national boards and committees in distinguished roles, including as President of the American Ophthalmological Society — and with over 400 publications to her name, her focus on retinal pharmacology, macular surgery, diabetic retinopathy, and healthcare equity frequently leads the field. As the visionary leader guiding Wills Eye through a period of significant growth, innovation, and national recognition, Dr. Haller is uniquely positioned to offer a compelling insider’s view of the hospital’s strategic direction.

This program will give supporters, especially those who have championed her leadership as she has transitioned into the role of Chief Executive Officer, the opportunity to hear directly from Dr. Haller about the groundbreaking initiatives underway across Wills Eye, the advances shaping the future of ophthalmology, and the priorities that will drive the next era of excellence. Her perspective, spanning clinical innovation, institutional strategy, and the broader landscape of eye care, makes her the ideal All-Star for our program on April 17!
