Claire King, MSIS, CRA serves as Director of Sponsored Projects at the Vickie and Jack Farber Vision Research Center at Wills Eye Hospital. Claire oversees the entire lifecycle of externally funded research grants and contracts, from initial development to final closeout. Key duties include leading proposal development and submission, negotiating awards, ensuring financial and regulatory compliance, managing budgets, and providing administrative support and training to faculty and staff. Since joining Wills Eye in 2024, Claire has supported over $29 million in proposal submissions and implemented innovative systems to streamline research operations. With more than 18 years of experience in academic research administration, including senior leadership roles at Drexel University, she brings expertise in building strategic partnerships, securing major funding, and integrating technology solutions to support and continue to grow the research enterprise at Wills Eye Hospital. Claire holds degrees in Industrial Engineering and Information Systems and is a Certified Research Administrator.
