President Trump is scheduled to be in Philadelphia on Tuesday, September 15, 2020 at The National Constitution Center (NCC) in the Independence Mall area. Increased police presence is anticipated in Center City throughout Tuesday afternoon and evening. Please allow extra time if you are going to Wills Eye. Please be advised of area street closures to vehicles beginning at 1:00PM on Tuesday 9/15. Pedestrian access will also be limited in the area. This is subject to change and area restrictions, which could widen, will be lifted once the President departs the NCC. There are also demonstrations planned for Tuesday 9/15 around Independence Mall as well as City Avenue.

Preparing for Discharge

You are required to have an adult (someone over 18 years old) to arrive with you, stay during your procedure and then take you home.

Public transportation is not an acceptable form of transportation home from the surgical center.

If someone is not available to stay at the center during the surgical procedure, a ride by a friend or relative will be acceptable.

Please come to the center with the name and telephone number(s) of the individual who will escort you home. This person will be contacted prior to your surgical procedure to confirm that they will be picking you up from the center. However, your procedure will be cancelled if your ride cannot be contacted.

If arriving by car please park on the 7th floor (roof top) of the Walnut Towers parking garage located adjacent to the Wills Eye Hospital building. Entrances to this garage are accessible on both 8th and 9th Streets between Walnut and Locust Streets or from Walnut Street on the left before 9th Street.
