For children, healthy vision determines how and whether they read, learn, play, grow and thrive.
Often not fully appreciated until lost or damaged, our sense of sight impacts our lives every day in every way. For children, healthy vision determines how and whether they read, learn, play, grow and thrive. At Wills, we strive to ensure that children have healthy eyes, clear vision and access to corrective measures and cutting-edge treatments based on the latest research.
Please join the global #GivingTuesday movement with a gift to reach Wills Eye’s $25,000 goal to support the following initiatives aimed at preserving children’s vision:
- Give Kids Sight Day is a very special annual event where over a thousand children receive eye exams and, if needed, eyeglasses and additional follow-up eye care facilitated by a pediatric ophthalmic social worker free of charge.
- Wills Eye provides free Vision Screenings for Children in Grades K-5 at 30 Philadelphia elementary schools, Boys & Girls Clubs of America in Philadelphia/Chester and children's summer reading programs. Free services also include optometry exams, optician fittings and eyeglasses.
- Through our research on inherited retinal diseases, we are working in collaboration with the University of Iowa to realize the promise of gene therapy for children threatened with blindness due to genetic retinal dystrophies and other ocular diseases.
Your gift today will help us save sight.
