Dr. Nicholas Hadjokas is an attending physician with the Wills Eye Cornea Service. He was born and raised in Allentown, PA and was inspired to pursue a career in the medical field by his father, a dentist, and mother, an occupational therapist. He went on to receive his medical degree from the Lewis Katz School of Medicine at Temple University in Philadelphia where he discovered his passion for ophthalmology because he saw the direct impact the field has on patients' quality of life. After completing his residency in ophthalmology at SUNY Upstate Medical University in Syracuse, New York, he returned to Philadelphia to train in cornea and anterior segment surgery at Wills Eye Hospital. Inspired by the faculty and collaborative environment of Wills, Dr. Hadjokas joined the Wills Eye faculty as a cornea specialist following his fellowship. He specializes in partial and full thickness corneal transplantation, routine and complex cataract surgery, advanced technology lenses, laser corrective surgery (LASIK, PRK), and minimally invasive glaucoma surgery (MIGS).
In his free time he enjoys exploring the music and food scene of Philadelphia, traveling, practicing the trumpet, and cooking. He enjoys teaching residents and studying and applying the ever-evolving technology in the field of cornea and anterior segment surgery. He looks forward to going to work every day to take care of patients and their eyes in order to protect, preserve, and enhance their quality of life.
