Biography
Dr. Michael Abendroth was born in Boston and raised in Hershey, Pennsylvania. He graduated from Dartmouth College then earned his Doctor of Medicine and Master of Business Administration degrees from Penn State University, where he was elected into the Alpha Omega Alpha and Beta Gamma Sigma honor societies. He completed his internship at MacNeal Hospital in Chicago, where he was awarded Intern of the Year. He then completed his residency at Wills Eye Hospital, where he was a Chief Resident.
Dr. Abendroth has a special interest in patient education, safety and quality improvement, and practice efficiency. He has presented his research at national and international meetings. He currently is developing a surgical training curriculum and website for the Wills Eye Residents. In his free time, he enjoys hiking and traveling.
