Biography

Betul Bayraktutar, MD, FEBO, is a fellowship-trained ophthalmologist with advanced expertise in pediatric ophthalmology, adult strabismus, and corneal and anterior segment disorders in both children and adults. She has completed multiple prestigious clinical fellowships, including Pediatric Ophthalmology, focusing on pediatric anterior segment disorders, at the Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh, Pediatric Ophthalmology and Adult Strabismus at Wills Eye Hospital, and Cornea, External Disease, and Refractive Surgery at the University of Florida.

Dr. Bayraktutar is internationally trained, holding the Fellow of the European Board of Ophthalmology (FEBO) distinction and certification from the Educational Commission for Foreign Medical Graduates (ECFMG). Prior to her clinical fellowships, she served as a postdoctoral clinical research fellow at the New England Eye Center, Tufts Medical Center, where she conducted translational research on ocular surface diseases and corneal imaging.

Her clinical and surgical interests span from amblyopia and strabismus to complex corneal disorders and corneal transplantations. She has authored over 20 peer-reviewed articles, contributed to book chapters, and has been an invited speaker and presenter at numerous national and international conferences. She is also an active peer reviewer for several leading ophthalmology journals.
