Biography

Robert S. Bailey Jr., MD is a Clinical Associate Professor at Thomas Jefferson University and Director Emeritus of the Cataract & Primary Eye Care Service at Wills Eye Hospital. A diplomate of the American Board of Ophthalmology, and a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons, he is also on active staff at Chestnut Hill Hospital, and currently serves as Chief of its Division of Ophthalmology. He serves on numerous committees at Wills, and has an integral role there in teaching surgery to Ophthalmology residents. His numerous publications, presentations, and lectures focus on cataract and anterior segment surgery and their complications. Dr. Bailey’s practice emphasizes excellence in cataract surgery in both routine and high-risk patients. He also provides meticulous diagnosis and treatment of comprehensive ophthalmology patients.
