LVPEI: The patients
One of the most impressive
aspects of LVPEI is the severity and diversity of the pathology that presents
here. In just a few weeks of clinic and OR time, I have seen cases of Noonan
Syndrome, Crouzon Syndrome, Xeroderma
Pigmentosa, myocystercosis, Centurion Syndrome, FAP, dozens of cases of severe squamous cell
carcinoma and sebaceous cell carcinoma, multiple orbital lymphomas,
conjunctival lymphomas, multiple
patients with anophthalmia, fungal granulomas, and massive sino-orbital tumors.
And, orbito-facial necrotizing fasciitis, twice. The sheer variety in a normal
clinic day is mind boggling. The numbers are overwhelming, and with that
magnitude of patients, you are bound to see the extreme and unusual.
