Naming Opportunities

Add Your Name to the Wills Legacy

Ophthalmologists trained at Wills Eye Hospital are the inheritors of a great tradition in medical education that stems from the creation of the nation’s first ophthalmology residency program at Wills in 1839. Since then, generations of Wills physicians have pioneered new treatments, surgical techniques and training methods that have defined the field of ophthalmology and propelled Wills as a global leader in ophthalmic medicine and education. Wills has trained more ophthalmologists than any other single medical institution in the country.

Today, the #1 ranked Wills Eye Residency Program at Thomas Jefferson University provides an unsurpassed training environment combining clinical, surgical and individual mentoring experiences delivered by our nationally-recognized ophthalmology faculty. To remain at the forefront of ophthalmic surgical training, Wills Eye plans to upgrade its microsurgical lab by integrating recent advances in medical technology and instrumentation into a newly-reimagined Wills EyeLab Surgical Training and Innovation facility. The improvements will allow us to continue advancing ophthalmic microsurgical training at Wills by incorporating new approaches to the demands for both precision and efficiency into our curriculum.

In addition to strengthening the training experiences of Wills residents and fellows, the expanded facility will also provide important new surgical training opportunities for faculty, visiting eye surgeons and residents and fellows from other institutions to learn, practice and master new surgical skills and techniques.

Through these select naming opportunities, your gift will have a lasting impact on the future of ophthalmic training and medical education at Wills Eye Hospital.
