Biography

Jacqueline R. Carrasco, MD, FACS is a board certified ophthalmologist on the Oculoplastic and Orbital Surgery Service at Wills Eye Hospital. She specializes in eyelid reconstruction, thyroid eyelid/orbital surgery and cosmetic eyelid surgery and is consistently named a Main Line Top Doctor in her specialty. Dr. Carrasco is System Division Chief of Ophthalmology for Main Line Health.

Dr. Carrasco earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Biology cum laude from the University of Miami in Coral Gables, Florida, and her medical doctorate from the University of Miami School of Medicine in Miami, Florida. She was inducted into the prestigious Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Society while in medical school.

Dr. Carrasco continued her training with an internship at the Crozer-Chester Medical Center in Upland, Pennsylvania. She completed her ophthalmology residency at the world-renowned Wills Eye Hospital in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, where she was named Chief Resident in Ophthalmology. Following her residency, she completed a two-year Oculoplastic and Orbital Surgery Fellowship, also at the Wills Eye Hospital and Lankenau Medical Center.

Active in a variety of professional organizations, Dr. Carrasco is a Fellow of the American Society of Ophthalmic Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery, Fellow of the American College of Surgeons (FACS) and a diplomate of the American Academy of Ophthalmology. She is also a member of the Wills Eye Hospital Society, American Medical Association and Pennsylvania Academy of Ophthalmology, and an attending surgeon at Lankenau Medical Center.

Dr Carrasco is the author of numerous published articles on ophthalmology and oculoplastic surgery. She also serves as Clinical Associate Professor of Ophthalmology at Thomas Jefferson University and has trained numerous residents, fellows, and medical students.
