Wills Eye Society

"To foster and provide social relations between the members and to maintain and increase professional interest in the hospital."
Motto of the Wills Eye Hospital Society

In 1839, Wills Eye established the nation’s first residency training program for ophthalmologists, it is ongoing and one of the most sought after in the country. Dedicated to upholding the integrity of the Wills residency and quality of its educational training, the residents formed an alumni organization known as the Wills Eye Hospital Society.

Today, these dedicated men and women provide financial support for visiting professors at Wills Eye, resident research projects, alumni gatherings at the American Academy of Ophthalmology meeting, and the Wills Eye Alumni Conference, an annual scientific clinical conference.
