Wills International Scholars Program
The Wills Eye experience reaches around the world. We are excited to share our world class institute with you, through our expert physicians teaching overseas, physicians from around the globe coming to the Wills Eye Institute and our web-based educational resources.
How to Become a Wills International Scholar
International medical graduates are offered a structured opportunity to observe clinical ophthalmology under the guidance of Wills Eye experts as Wills International Scholars. These observerships are generally 4-6 weeks in length and they do not involve direct patient care or contact. During your stay you may focus in one specialty of ophthalmology or rotate through several. The scholars may participate in: pediatric ophthalmology and ocular genetics, glaucoma, oncology, oculoplastic & orbital surgery, cornea, neuro-ophthalmology, retina & uveitis, comprehensive ophthalmology, ophthalmic diagnostic testing and ophthalmic pathology. Scholars are invited to attend Wills Eye lectures and presentations as well as other educational opportunities during their stay.

If you wish to have a longer stay, be involved in direct patient care and/or research, you may wish to apply for a fellowship with the your specialty of interest. More information about opportunities in each specialty may be obtained here.
