Glaucoma Service Fellowship
The Wills Eye Glaucoma Service offers two types of fellowships.
Clinical Fellowships
Generally, there are three positions open yearly. Fellows assist with the clinical and surgical care of patients in the Glaucoma Service, under the supervision of senior attendings. George Spaeth, M.D., is the program preceptor. Many of this program's graduates have become recognized leaders in the field of glaucoma and several have gone on to become department chairs. These one-year positions are fully funded.
Research Fellowships
Research fellows plan, conduct and publish research on glaucoma under the tutelage of various Glaucoma Service attendings. These positions are usually one year in length, depending on research funding obtained by the fellow prior to joining the program. Normally, there are two to four spaces available for research fellows in this service.
