Cornea Edema After Cataract Surgery

Some patients develop permanent corneal edema (swelling) after cataract surgery. They may have had mild Fuchs' corneal dystrophy which was aggravated by the cataract surgery. Patients with significant corneal edema may require corneal transplantation to regain good vision.
