Other Procedures

We perform numerous other procedures for diagnostic and therapeutic reasons. We employ computerized corneal topography to evaluate corneal curvature, ultrasonic testing of corneal thickness, and specular microscopy to analyze the health of the endothelial cells on the back of the cornea. We perform other surgical procedures including excision of pterygia (scar tissue growths onto the cornea), excision of conjunctival and corneal tumors, amniotic membrane grafts and partial thickness corneal transplants. When a patient has other ocular problems, we work with additional sub-specialists at Wills Eye Hospital, such as retina, glaucoma, ophthalmic plastic and pediatric ophthalmic doctors, to achieve the best results.
