What is "skin cancer" of the eye and how is it treated?

Just like on the skin, there are many types of cancers that can affect the eye. The most common is similar to a common skin cancer and develops on the surface of the eye. It is typically treated with surgical removal of the cancer. Occasionally, eye drops can be helpful. While this type of cancer does not usually grow back, patients need to monitored for recurrence.
