Appointment Information
Regularly Scheduled Appointments
Our main office is at Wills Eye Hospital at 840 Walnut Street, on the 9th floor in Center City, Philadelphia. Additionally, we have satellite offices at Lankenau Hospital and Bryn Mawr Hospital and in Mays Landing, NJ and Tamaqua, PA, (about 45 minutes from Allentown, PA).
Our offices are open from 8:00 am to 4:30 pm Monday through Friday, and occasionally Saturdays. Patients are seen first by a cornea fellow, a fully trained ophthalmologist participating in as training program in cornea and external disease. Then, one of the attending physicians, Drs. Laibson, Cohen, Rapuano or Hammersmith, will examine you and discuss the diagnosis and treatment alternatives. The fellow may perform tests as requested by the attending physician.
Please note that your eyes may be dilated during the examination making it difficult to read or drive for several hours after the visit. You may wish to bring sunglasses and a driver.
Please note that given the nature of our specialty, we often have to see emergency cases throughout the day. This can sometimes lead to delays for regularly scheduled appointments. We make every effort to remain on schedule, but we ask for your understanding in this matter. We hope you will alert us if you experience any excessive delays. Please remember that you could be the emergency patient at some point in time and you would want the same consideration.
