Judith Lavrich, MD

Biography

A board certified ophthalmologist, Judith Lavrich, MD is on active staff of the Pediatric Ophthalmology and Ocular Genetics Service at Wills Eye Hospital. She is also a Clinical Instructor of Ophthalmology at Sidney Kimmel Medical College at Thomas Jefferson University. She has been practicing pediatric ophthalmology and adult strabismus for over 25 years.

Dr. Lavrich graduated magna cum laude from the University of Toledo in Ohio and received her M.D. from the University of Cincinnati College of Medicine. She performed her internship at Northwestern University, McGaw Medical Center. She accomplished her Ophthalmology Residency at the University of Arizona Medical Center, Department of Ophthalmology, and was trained extensively in oculoplastic surgery by one of the leading oculoplastic surgeons in the world.

Dr. Lavrich completed her fellowship in Pediatric Ophthalmology and Adult Strabismus at Wills Eye Hospital in Philadelphia. She became Board Certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology in 1991. She is also a Fellow of the American Academy of Cosmetic Surgery.

Dr. Lavrich has extensive experience in the surgical correction of misaligned eyes in adults and children and has been sought out for her proficiency in this area. She treats children and adults with double vision, turning of the eyes, tearing disorders and dry eyes.

Dr. Lavrich is well published in ophthalmology literature, has authored several chapters and has been the co-editor of the several books. She has been highly involved in educating the current and future generations of doctors and nurses. She has taught many residents of ophthalmology at Wills Eye Hospital and Pennsylvania College of Osteopathic Medicine as well as students of optometry from the Pennsylvania College of Optometry. She continues to lecture at Wills Eye Hospital, in many of the community hospitals and holds yearly seminars for school nurses in Bucks County, PA. Dr. Lavrich is a member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology (AAO) and American Academy of Pediatric Ophthalmology and Strabismus (AAPOS).
