Cataract and Primary Eye Care (CPEC) Service

Cataract and Primary Eye Care (CPEC) Service physicians perform routine eye exams and refer any serious complications to one of the subspecialty services at Wills Eye. The service performs thousands of cataract surgeries each year, as well as many other treatments, including the following:

  • Comprehensive eye examinations
  • Cataract surgery
  • Cataract screenings
  • Referrals to ophthalmologists in subspecialties such as cornea, glaucoma or retina

CPEC offers its patients nearly two dozen fully equipped examining rooms, staffed by highly trained resident physicians under the supervision of staff physicians on the CPEC Service. World-class surgeons that are consistently rated as America’s best perform all surgeries at the Cataract and Primary Eye Care Service.
